Terms of use
These terms govern your use of this website. By browsing it, using the calculators or submitting an enquiry, you accept them.
About us
Equity Bond Home Loans operates as a mortgage origination service in South Africa and is a registered credit provider. We are remunerated by the lending institution that registers the bond, which is why our service carries no cost to the applicant.
We are not a bank and we do not grant credit. Every approval, interest rate, concession and condition is determined by the relevant lender on its own assessment of your application.
The calculators are estimates
The calculators on this site are provided to help you plan. They are not a quotation, an offer of credit, a pre-approval or financial advice as contemplated in the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act 37 of 2002.
Repayment figures assume a standard amortising loan at the rate you enter, and default to the prime lending rate of 10,50 percent effective 28 May 2026. They exclude the bank's monthly service fee, initiation fee, rates, levies and insurance premiums.
Transfer and bond cost estimates apply the SARS transfer duty table for the 2026/27 tax year, effective 1 April 2026, together with the recommended conveyancing tariff. Attorney tariffs move in steps and are subject to change, so the binding figure is the pro forma account issued by your transferring attorney.
Affordability results are a guideline. Banks assess net income after deductions, your credit record, the nature of your income and the affordability test required by the National Credit Act 34 of 2005.
Applications and approvals
Submitting an enquiry or application form on this site does not create a credit agreement and does not oblige any lender to grant finance.
No credit bureau enquiry is made until you have spoken to an originator and confirmed that you want the application submitted.
All finance is subject to the credit criteria of the relevant lender, to a satisfactory valuation of the property, and to the National Credit Act. Terms and conditions apply.
Accuracy of information you give us
You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information and documents you provide. Providing false or misleading information to a credit provider is a criminal offence.
You confirm that you are acting for yourself, or that you are duly authorised to act for the entity you represent.
Rates and figures on this site

You should confirm current figures before relying on them for a transaction.
