Records available without a formal request
Our service descriptions, calculators, market figures, privacy notice and terms of use are published on this website and may be viewed or printed freely.
A client may request a copy of their own application file, the documents they submitted and the correspondence relating to their application by contacting the originator handling the file. No formal PAIA request is needed for this.

Client records: applications, supporting documents, affordability assessments, correspondence with lenders, and records of the outcome of each application.
Financial records: accounting records, tax returns, commission statements, and banking records.
Statutory records: registration documents, National Credit Act records, and Financial Intelligence Centre Act records including client identification and verification.
Employment records: contracts, payroll, leave and disciplinary records.
Operational records: supplier and service provider agreements, insurance policies, and information technology records.
Records held in terms of other legislation
We hold records required by, among others, the National Credit Act 34 of 2005, the Financial Intelligence Centre Act 38 of 2001, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, the Companies Act 71 of 2008, the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962, the Value Added Tax Act 89 of 1991, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act 75 of 1997 and the Labour Relations Act 66 of 1995.
Access to these records is subject to the grounds for refusal set out in Chapter 4 of PAIA, including the mandatory protection of the privacy of third parties and of confidential commercial information.
How to request access
Complete the prescribed request form published by the Information Regulator and send it to the information officer at the address above.
State clearly which record you want, in what form you want it, and how we should reach you. If you are requesting a record in order to exercise or protect a right, identify that right and explain how the record is needed for it.
If you are acting for someone else, attach proof of your authority to do so.
Fees and timelines
A request fee and an access fee may be payable in the amounts prescribed under the Act. Requesters asking for their own personal information do not pay a request fee.
We respond within thirty days of receiving a properly completed request. That period may be extended once, by up to a further thirty days, where the request covers a large number of records or requires a search of records held elsewhere. You will be told in writing if that happens.
If access is refused
Where a request is refused, we give reasons and identify the section of the Act relied on.
You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator, or apply to a court for relief, within the periods set out in the Act.
